From Inception to DreamPaw.com

8/25/2010, Pittsburgh

Following hot on the heels of summer blockbuster Inception, comes the beta release of DreamPaw.com, an online dream sharing service.

Despite the timing, DreamPaw was conceived of independently of the famous movie; by a trio of web developers, and self-proclaimed dreamers. Taking a more real-world stance on dreams, they believe in the dream state as a source of raw inspiration which make minds great. So many of humanities greatest ideas – the sewing machine, organic chemistry, Beatles songs – are attributed to dreams, what if something like the cure to cancer is just a dream away?

DreamPaw channels the essence of social networking towards creating what is called the Dreamstream, an aggregation of all dreams posted. Allowing users to share and read dreams, whether anonymously or via personalized accounts, DreamPaw also offers features such as the ability to vote for dreams and following your friend’s dreams.

The founders saw a unique opportunity to encourage people to be more conscious of dreams by building a community of dreamers. “Our vision is to inspire others to dream and, in turn, for the world to be inspired by their dreams,” blogs Ricky Tan, one of three founders.

Although a fluid and user friendly interface suggests otherwise, DreamPaw is still under rapid development. “We could not be more excited about the strides we have made in such a short period of time - the plan behind beta testing with a wide audience is to receive feedback so that we can best tailor future versions of DreamPaw.”
